PRIESTS AND ORTHODOX ACTIVISTS BASH AN INDEPENDENT RADIO STATION PARTY IN MOSCOW ON THE 4TH OF JULY
The Russian Orthodox Church and the Kremlin strangling Russia
Moscow Times, an independent English language newspaper in Russia, reports: “Festivities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of a prominent radio station Serebryany Dozhd (Silver Rain) were halted Saturday when scores of Orthodox religious activists crashed the party, demanding it come to an immediate end, Russian media reported.
The party, which was sanctioned by the authorities, was held in the courtyard of the radio station’s offices in northern Moscow, in the vicinity of a church, Ekho Moskvy radio station reported.
“Right in the middle of the party a hundred people led by a priest stormed in, taking down metal detectors and barriers,” Alexander Bunin, a presenter for the radio station, was cited by news tabloid LifeNews as saying Saturday.
The party crashes were parishioners from the church nearby, Bunin said, led by the church’s senior priest, Dmitry Smirnov.
Smirnov climbed onto the stage, took the microphone from the announcer, and demanded an end to the festivities, saying all the noise was interfering with the rights of believers to pray in silence.

“Everything was going well when suddenly, at about 5:30 pm when a music band started its performance on stage a crowd of men and women (a total of 120 people), led by several priests in cassocks broke into the yard, sweeping the security metal detector gates.
Pushing and shoving everyone who came their way, they came onto the stage. They hurt quite a few people — a security guard, a driver, (the security gates fell on him), the event organizer Mikhail Kozyrev, others. No one was spared — they shoved, pushed away, and ignored any attempts to at least know what it is, any attempts to start a dialogue.
Once they made it on the stage, the priests began to yank the cord from the equipment and push the musicians. It resembled a raider attack.”
“Of course, the concert was disrupted. Then, after the “believers” were convinced that they “seized power” they demanded to see “the boss”. … Of course, we called the police. After 20 minutes on the stage, the priests and support group, accompanied by riot police finally left the area, and the party was continued.”
NOTE: The police did not detain the attackers.
WHO ARE THE BELIEVERS?
Archpriest Dmitry Smirnov, a former head of the Synod’s department for cooperation with the Armed Forces and Interior agencies, and currently the head of the Committee on Family and Motherhood Issues, formed by the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Committee was formed on the order of the Main Patriarch of Russia, Kirill, who was the head of the committee before archpriest Smirnov.
The Russian Orthodox Church uses the KGB method in suppressing the opposition. It is understandable: although, the Russian Orhtodox Church has not recognized its KGB past, when KGB archives became public in the beginning of the 1990s, Patriarch Kirill, as well as the previous patriarch, was revealed to have been a KGB agent. The archives got closed again with Putin — a former KGB — back in power.
Archpriest is also connected to most “Orthodox athletes” groups, paramilitary gangs that consist of the former soccer fans, bikers, Neo Nazis, utlra-right radicals, funded by the state and used to suppress the opposition gatherings, such as protests against church and monuments constructions, LGBT support rallies, cultural events.
